I must admit as I rolled up into the gloom on Tuesday for Hi Fidelity I didn’t know what to expect. For one I had a whole new plan and circuit running through my head. I had spent Sunday evening scoping out hills in the area. I knew the ridge creatively called “Ridge Rd” would surely have more hills than the one’s previous Qs were aware of. I definitely found a few but still was worried. Would this work? Would it be too many Pax? Would these Hills be hard enough for these “Hill Thirsty” Pax? When a group of 18 men show up at 5:30 am ready for some hills you want to deliver! The other reason I felt a bit off was well the night before. I had joined about 9 other Pax for the celebration of fellow “hate hate” Les Nessman’s Birthday. My hop head took over and I had a few IPAs more than expected. I wouldn’t say I was as bad as hungover but I definitely was not as well rested as I could have been.
Still life goes on and so do hills apparently.
Warmup: Run down Horton through the construction to Lake Boone. Right before hitting Lake Boone we stopped for 20 x SSH, 15 x Good Mornings, 15 x Imperial Walkers
“Warmup” Hill was straight up Lake Boone to the light at Ridge road. Stopped and waiting for all Pax then Moseyed on down Ridge towards Glen Eden.
About .5 Miles down on the left is Hampton Drive. A long draw out hill with a little dip toward the top. We descended and ascended it….twice. Mosey down Ridge again another two blocks past Hampton.
We then met Airplane Drive. A nice easy hill until it quicky ascends into the depths. There was what looked like a robed Friar water flowers on his drive way. We ascended this hill…twice.
Then with Pax in the depths planning a third charge of Airplane I led us the other way. Across a cut through that resulted in Pax finding themselves at the bottom of Hampton drive….yet again. We ascend Hampton.
We head back to the AO the way we came finding ourselves yet again at the bottom of Horton. Where we charged our final hill right into the parking lot.
COT:
Annoucements: BRR training is heating up. With HiFi, Endorphin, Tahoe, WolfRun, and BlackOps Sunday runs there is almost an option every day for a run with other Pax. Ball Bearings also has a strong group of Prerunners starting at 5:15 weekly on Wednesdays.
Prayer Request: Friar Tuck in Rwanda (reminded of Friar on Airplane Drive), Pax with Family struggles happening, injured Pax
I appreciate the Pax who led us out.
Aye, Pepe
