We may have gone some fancy places, but as pax, we were not fancy. It was cold. We were bundleed in layers of long sleeves, toboggins, and all wiping the sleep out of our eyes as we rolled into the gloom. We went running.
From Roanoke we ran up to the Baptist Church at Five Points. We tried to break loose in the cold with SSH (x20 cadence), GM (x15 cadence), IW (x20 cadence), calf over calf stretch (Q count), butterfly stretch (Q count), runner stretch (Q count), IT band stretch (Q count), calf stretch (Q count), ascending urkins on the stairs (x10 each stair moving upwards x4). The we ran to the Country Club.
They were apparently not open for brunch yet and we didn’t have the pass code to get in, or any credetials for that part. We circled up at the base of the flag pole and took precautions to not mess up the finely combed grass. Merkins (on my down x20), LBCs (Cadence x20). Run away before someone calls the cops on the four guys wearing toboggans and dark clothing.
Down the rest of Glenwood, up Oberlin to Country Club Homes located across from the old Johnson’s Pharmacy (Now Mandalin). Our second “country club” stop included… Prayer Squats (Cadence x20). Al Gore (10 count each pax).
Next down Fairview to Five Points. Low Slow Flutter (cadence x20). Down Glenwood towards town to the stoplight, back through the really nice Hayes Barton neighborhood (how has noone called the cops on us yet?), back across Five Points, down Whitaker Mill to Bickett, and back to home base. We lost Myrtle for a bit but found him back at the park.
Just a good run on a cold morning with a good group of guys. I’d do it again.
COT: Mule on ¾, Unspoken Prayers, Munson took us out.
