Description of my nonprofit and purpose of fundraiser: The After School Special is a non-profit organization whose goals are to help teens reach their full potential in life. We do this through life skills workshops and career exposure. The number of high school students who don’t have a clue what they want to do once they get out of high school is staggering. Based on our research, one out of four high school seniors are graduating without a plan post-high school. This is the biggest reason behind wanting to do this conference. We want to expose teens to careers they don’t know exist and ones that are phasing out, especially around the triangle.
