YHC’s maiden Q, thank you Men for your patience and the privilege of leading today. PAX were eager to run off any excesses from the long weekend celebrating independence from the British tyrants, but quickly spotted the extra flag flying today (in a homemade kind of way)…..this might not end well….
After running round to the service road, and quickly circling up, it was straight to action with 20 x arm circles fwd & back; 20 x good mornings; 20 x imperial walkers; 20 x cotton pickers. A brisk run up the hill, across to the basketball court, just in time for:
The Thangs
After ever so politely lining up, the PAX were careful of minding their P’s & Q’s and very appreciative of good manners this morning, as everyone amicably partnered up in two’s:
P1 got the first of a few BTTW in, whilst P2 was busy with 20 x standard Merkins; 20 x Carolina dry docks and 20 x mountain climbers, then FLAPJACK followed by plank hold until everyone done
Next, P1 20 x “Andy Murray” LH plank & 20 x “Andy Murray” RH plank followed by sprinting the length of the court and back. “Andy Murray’s” being a tribute to the Scottish Tennis player, and his cross court backhand winners – all from the comfort of a plank position. Whilst that frenetic activity was going on, P2’s were delighted to get back to the wall for more BTTW, before FLAPJACK followed by a Peoples chair + count along the line
Suitably warm now, PAX and YHC moseyed along to the lower pedestrian crossing, for a deceptively long backward run up and down the hill like this:
P1 leading out with backward run up hill to second crossing; 20 x burpee’s and lunge walk across the crossing (Abbey Road style) before backward run down hill; 20 x burpee’s and another lunge walk across the crossing. P2 were only too happy to do the same but with the Burpee’s and lunge walk first to delay the inevitably leg burning backward run. Recovery was a plank hold at lower crossing until everyone had thoroughly enjoyed the backward running.
PAX were disappointed that there wasn’t time for more BTTW, but instead moseyed over to Soccer Field 2 where P1 started at nearest goal line, for a BEAR CRAWL to 18 yard box, 20 SSH’s, RUN to half way line for more 20 SSH’s, RUN to opposite 18 yard box – 20 SSH’s followed by BEAR CRAWL to far goal line, then a run all the way back to nearest goal line. Same for P2 but run to far goal line first & work way back. PAX quickly dispatched this exercise, and the faster ones (you know who you are) had the benefit of lbc’s until everyone was done.
With 10 minutes left, time for a quick Indian Run the long way around the fields, to the baseball at the top of the parking lot, where PAX were overjoyed at another rep of 20 x standard Merkins; 20 x carolina dry docks and 20 x mountain climbers, followed by a Billy Run to the basketball court.
Largemouth once again displayed his “Bolt-esque” sprinting skills and left all PAX, YHC most definitely included, trailing in his not inconsiderable wake.
Just time at the basketball court for a bonus BTTW and 10 count along the line, which all PAX were exceptionally pleased about, before a quick Mary comprising 20 Freddie Mercury’s; 20 WW2s and 6in leg raise around the circle.
