With 5 minutes till game time I sat watching a light rain fall in an empty parking lot wondering if anyone was going to show up on this warm and wet Monday morning. As I was calculating how quickly I could make it over to Crucible for Paper Cut’s Q, the headlights began lighting up the trees at the far end of the parking lot and it was game on! I was really looking forward to the workout this morning and was happy to see VHS, B&E, and Tin Cup rolling in.

  • run to the hidden parking lot out back for Inchworm Lt. Dans (Squat, Forward Lunge L, Forward Lunge R, inchworm walk down into a merkin, groiner; repeat and add an additional squat each rep until we crossed the parking lot. Our last rep had 10 squats in it.)
  • run to the hill on the side of the ball field for muddy uphill wheelbarrows to the outfield fence (nice work Tin Cup!)

Today’s word from Romans 12:1-2 (MSG) So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
