YHC had lined up several Q’s for the week to celebrate the big For-oh, only to decide that was too cliche. Why not just keep a few, grind out the week as normal, and finish things off at The Arena. So no better place to start than YHC’s “home field,” The Forge. Arriving with plenty of time to spare, YHC was able to greet many Forge regulars and have a little pre-post fellowship. As the last of the pax made ready, YHC noted no fng’s, and therefore gave no disclaimer, just a nod and a simple call to follow, and we were off.
The Thang: Jog up the lot towards the pool back through the park down past the carousel, lunge walk the first bridge, bear crawl around the gazebo, back to the jog around the rest of the pond back towards the steps, only to spot a runner with a ruck and a collared shirt, upon closer inspection at the top of the stairs, it was determined to be Money Hose on his maiden voyage to the Forge. The # was now 17, so we headed up and past the round shelter to the upper pool lot where we formed the first COP.
YHC was made aware that most were warm by this point, though he still thought a few for good measure wouldn’t hurt. GM, IW, SSH, and one or two more.
Back to the jog with a loop through the lower garden and back to the round shelter for a little work. L/R S-U’s, declined Merican’s, and inclined Merican’s x 10, x 15, and x 20, w/o rest. At some point two unfamiliar pax made their way into the shelter, YHC later determined one to be a 2nd timer and the other an fng.
Back to the jog, down the stairs to the swing-sets, find a partner, 100 Swircans and 100 Ausi pull-ups as a team, one works while the other runs a loop around the carousel. Mosey over to the base of the steps for more partner work, Burpee’s x 50, one works while one runs to the round shelter and back. Do burpees as a team when your done with the 50 till last team finishes.
Head to the stone circle to finish things up, LBC Pyramid to 25 and back, box cutters and hammers, DONE!
The late arrival turned out to be Royal w/ Cheese, he brought an fng soon to be named Harbaugh. 19 pax finished things out with a few announcements, one being the Arena this Friday at 2:30 at the Healing Place or 2 to run over from Pullen. YHC shared the transformation in many areas of his life as a result of F3, and encouraged the pax to inventory the men in their lives and bring them out. And as always the true transformation comes by the Holy Spirit at work in YHC’s life. Yoda took us out with a strong word to God Himself.
NMM: Great morning, not much rest, and plenty of complaining by pax, always a good sign. Nice to see a veteran pax stepping out of his comfort zone and joining the men of the Forge for the first time in his years of being a leader in the gloom. It reminds me what creatures of habit we are, and that change can be a hard thing. Step up, step out, lead if you haven’t, invite that man who needs to be a part of F3, challenge yourself and watch God work in and through you. Thanks as always for allowing me to lead.
C-Dub out!
