After a long week of Twitter banter, it was time. One year spent in the gloom of Baileywick was celebrated by 53 PAX. Plenty of regulars from North Raleigh and The Crick. A welcome abundance of ITB brethren who loaded up their clown cars were also in attendance. Even one VIP from the West Coast (he said something about his brother graduating, but I’ll assume he came all this way for us). A WarBaby of 10 yo (2.0 Superstar), a WarDaddy of 63 (Tooth Fairy). Young and old we gathered. Here’s what we did.
The Thang: In honor of the first workout, Grady lead us in the original Thang.
Warm-Up: SSH x25, Mountain Climbers x20, Good Mornings x20
Jog over to the Baileywick Elementary Soccer Field for…
THE BEAST: Although there was some confusion by some surprisingly veteran F3’ers, this is the beast. Four cones laid out. As you reach each of the first 3 cones, you stop and do 6 reps of the chosen exercise. Run to the fourth, and do the reps again at each of the 3 cones heading back. (6 reps, 6 times, 6 exercises)
Exercises were: Merkins, LBCs, Squats, Plank Jacks, WWII’s, Burpees. Mumble chatter especially for LBCs and WWII’s on the wet ground.
Partner up. Wheel barrow to first cone, bear crawl to second, crab walk to third, lunge walk to fourth, partner carry back. Flapjack. Repeat the set twice.
Les Nessman time. Jog back to the road, backwards run for a bit. Jog to the baseball field.
Indian run race. Two lines (dividing up 53 was unsurprisingly a failure). Indian Run the fence line of the whole baseball field one time. Each team had one cinder block to pass down the line, once the man at the back receives the cinder block, he sprints to the front. With some mild cheating, teams finished about the same time.
Each team then planked on the 1st and 3rd base lines respectively. Two at a team from each team sprint to the fence, 10 partner derkins and back. Next two take off. Meanwhile on the infield we did merkins, chilcutts, LBCs, Sarkozy, Putins, throughout as we waited.
Balls to the walls x20 in cadence.
Back to the parking lot for Mary which consisted of 12 burpees OYO, x50 American Hammers.
COT
Thanks to all who came out and supported our anniversary. Many AO FNGs. T-Claps to Epoxy for the promotion (and for bringing his pied piper recorder to serenade). Great to see our brother Johnny Utah once again in the gloom, it had been far too long. We hope to see many of you again soon now that you ITB’ers saw our fine site, saw that the roads outside the beltline are paved, and realized our air is in fact safe to breathe.
Announcements: Komen race 6/13, sign up by Monday. Gopher places steel plate order today, you have til noon to pay and get on the list. Bible study for young guys kicks off Tuesday, Chickfila Cameron Village, 6:45. Fazio is the Q and received plenty of mumble chatter for being asked to do so. The Forum meets Mondays noon at Panera on Strickland.
Prayer requests: Screech’s mother, Hansel’s family, Hush Puppy’s family, PAX members with difficult family situations.
YHC shared a abbreviated devotion on endurance and steadfastness from Desiring God. Full link below. Nice job this morning men, it was a pleasure to lead you. I even got all 53 of your names.
Boom.
