EC – QIC joined by ManRam, Denali, and High Life.  1.5 mile run from Panera up to Solis Apartments, down Blue Ridge and back to starting point.  Then hit rock pile for 20 cadence count of curls, press, bent over row.

A whopping 38 PAX converged on West Raleigh’s original concrete jungle for some last minute toning before the Memorial Day weekend.  YHC always prefers to keep things mobile, so the theme of the day was a classic “pearls on a string” approach.  EC crew rolled into the mob at 5:30 sharp — 2 FNGs, so disclaimer was clearly articulated.  And we were off.

Brisk mosey to the near ramp and bear crawl up to get blood flowing, plank hold when at top.  Once all present, brisk mosey through deck towards Belk side, and then up the stairwell to top outdoor level for warmup

Brisk mosey through parking deck to back wall of Sears… PAX performed a one-two punch of People’s Chair (regular > move down > hands out straight progression) and Balls to the Wall (regular > walk hands out 5 paces > walk hands back progression X 2).  The latter was especially painful.

PAX mosey over to side of Sears and break into 2 groups for a relay race.  Each team forms a line, PAX in plank formation.  The brother at the front of each line sprints down straightaway to end of median and back, and then gets in plank formation.  First team to have all teammates complete sprint wins.

This turned out to be a very entertaining competition, full of mumblechatter.  QIC decided to audible to 2 at a time, then 3 at a time as it was apparent that 1 at a time would take all day.  The race inevitably came down to Orwell versus Tadpole, a showdown everyone was salivating for.  Orwell took an early lead, however Tadpole ran the back half with purpose, giving team 2 the victory.

All PAX then moseyed over to Sears entrance.  Each team took turns sprinting around the perimeter of the parking lot and AMRAP 1) monkey humpers and 2) wide grip merkins.

Brisk mosey back around to back road of the Mall (where Panera sits).  The last bit of the road has fairly high concrete median, and the workout was to scale the median, burpee on the other side, repeat until 20 completed.  Plenty of mumblechatter after Popeye half-jokingly asked if PAX were to boxjump the median… better have shins of steel for that approach.

After median challenge (which was a keeper), PAX found a curb for quick feet X 25.
