After the last fitness challenge in the spring, some PAX asked to do this quarterly. I think Mr. Rogers was one of those PAX, who evidently thought everyone else should suffer through this except for him. Glad to know the Crucible PAX pay attention to the tweets -many came prepared for the circuit and were offended the map was incorrect (“it’s a lie”). 26 veteran PAX, no FNGs, so after a quick warm-up, explanation, then heated discussion of the map, we were off.
THE THANG
AMLAP (as many laps as possible)
– Start at playground. Pull-ups x5. (yes, the playground, not the shelter)

– Continue around perimeter, stop at Gazebo for Air Squats x25
– Continue around perimeter, stop at next basketball court for Flutter Kicks x30
– Around the small track, then back to play ground (not the benches).
entire circuit = 1 mile
ManRam led a quick round of Mary while the last straggler (YHC) finished up.

MOLESKIN
Thanks again to Singlewide for letting us borrow the workout.
Something about the fitness challenge doesn’t agree with Grady. During the two last Fitness Challenges, he has had to drop the Browns off at the Superbowl. Really happy the bathroom was unlocked this morning.
The tweet informing the PAX about this week’s rendition of the Crucible featured the map of the workout – the Fitness Challenge circuit. VHS, who has since filed an official, vehement protest of the results over the accuracy of the map, asked “What is this? A fitness course for ants??”
Actually, that’s pretty close. As Peace Pipe eloquently took us out this morning, he talked about how each of us work together and inspire each other— some times we push, sometimes we get pulled — but we’re always in this together. If we had drone footage of the workout it would have looked like a formicary – a.k.a. an ant colony. Individual ants working as hard as they could at their own pace. Some were F3 veterans, pushing to beat personal goals. Others have just started F3, and were pushing to be better than last week. Some started early to get in an extra loop, and some rolled in late and still enjoyed the fun. A dad and son were vying for family honors. Even Dutchboy and CDC made an appearance.
The PAX have pushed YHC lately with pre-runs, extra credit, and brutal posts in 100% humidity. That hill on the backside of the park didn’t kick my ass as hard as it used to, and those box jumps didn’t burn quite as bad. Continue to push each other gentlemen, and be open to being pulled out of your comfort zone.
Lucky and proud to be part of this colony.
