With the weather forecast calling for a hot, hot, weekend with plenty of 2.0’s getting out of bed early the QIC planned some early morning fun with plenty of water to keep the group cool. As the swamp donkey pulled in to Falcon Park there were 17 PAX and little 2.0’s spread out in the lot ready to get things started.
Warm UP
Short Jog around a track to circle up in the grass. 20 X SSH IC, 15 X windmills IC, 15 X morracon night clubs IC, 10 merkins with 2.0 on backs.
The Thang
1.Guantanamo circle.
PAX form a circle with 2.0’s. Leg hold while 2.0’s take turns running around and pushing down the legs. Once the 2.0’s finished, the PAX took their turns pushing down the 2.0’s legs.
Fireman carry 2.0’s over to the baseball field
2. Flag Bear race
PAX vs. 2.0’s. The PAX put on flag football belts. The goal of the game was for the PAX to bear crawl across the outfield to the other side of the fence without losing all of the flags to the 2.0’s. If the 2.0’s captured all of the flags before the PAX reached the other side they win. If the 2.0’s win the PAX had to do 10 burbees. First game 2.0 won easily. The PAX wanted a chance to win and tried again. The PAX came very close the second time, but 2.0 Live Action tackled Kid Cracker Ray Lewis style right before he reached the fence and captured the flag. 10 more burbees for the PAX. 2.0’s were feeling good that they took down the PAX.
3. Water Balloon Baseball
PAX vs. 2.0’s. The goal of the game was for the PAX to run the bases without being hit by a water balloon. If a PAX is hit they had to go down to plank position. 2.0’s then run the bases while the PAX target the 2.0’s with water balloons. The team that had more crossing home plate is the winner. 2.0’s were not holding back on taking down the PAX in the first inning firing at helpless PAX in the plank position. PAX was ready for a win at this point and didn’t hold back throwing darts at the 2.0’s as they rounded the bases. IT was hard to determine who won as it turned into an all-out water balloon battle.
4. Wall Plank
The group moseyed out of the field and over to the parking lot taking the people’s chair position along a retention wall in the lot. The Q had the PAX and 2.0’s hold while taking a quick photo and preparing for Happy Squats.
5. Happy Squats
The Q turned up the speakers and informed the group that they needed SSH during Pharrell’s Happy song. For each time the word Happy was used the group needed to do a squat. Things started out strong with 2.0’s hanging in there. About 45 seconds in a few 2.0’s took a breather, about 3 minutes the PAX needed a breather but we all made it through and still smiling.
6. Tunnel Fun
The PAX formed a tunnel with their arms and went down to squat positions. The 2.0s were to go through the tunnel 5 times without touching the top of the tunnel. The 2.0’s on their own went down to the bear crawl on their final trip through. Rotate and the PAX had to bear crawl through the 2.0 tunnel.
Mary
With the group wet, dirty, and tired the mary was shortened. Plank hold while the 2.0’s took turns counting to 5.
I asked to the 2.0’s why they thought we came out this early. They had some great thoughts and seemed to appreciate now why we get up early each morning. I explained to the boys that we get up early to get stronger, be better fathers, leaders in our community, and have a lot of fun with this great group of men. It is always an honor to the lead this group. Howard took us out in a prayer and we enjoyed some carbs and caffeine at Stick Boys for a 2nd F following the workout.
