Why follow me to higher ground? Lost as you swear I am. Don’t throw away your basic needs: ambiance and vanity. – Collective Soul
17 PAX thought it would be a good idea to follow YHC around Laurel Hills park. We thought we’d be joined by some pre-Dawn Patrol ruckers, but the sights and sounds of the beatdown occurring must have kept them hiding in the woods. Here’s what they (and you) missed:
WARM-UP
Run a half lap of the parking lot to the top for the following:
- SSH x 30
- Mountain climbers x 30
- Plank jacks x 30
- Squats x 20
- Good mornings x 10
Partner up for…
THE THANG
Circuit loops in the parking lot. Starting at the top near the entrance, partners run to the bottom and weave their way up and down each row of parking spots, stopping at each turn for exercises.
- Trip one: 20 partner derkins each per station
- Trip two: 20 squats each per station
- Trip three: 20 partner sit-ups each per station (one partner planks while the other does sit-ups with his feet on the planking partner’s back)
Each trip had 5 stations, so that’s 100 reps per person per trip (I went ahead and did the math for any Gamecocks out there reading this… You see, “math” is that numbers thing you learn in class, and “class” is that thing you’re supposed to go to while in college, Tar Heels… but I digress…).
In between each trip, we did the following until the PAX had regrouped:
- Extended squat hold
- Plank-o-rama
- Mountain climbers
Mosey down to the rock pile and grab a rock for the following exercises in cadence:
- Curls x 20
- Overhead press x 20
- Tricep extensions x 20
- Bent-over row x 20
Just enough time left to mosey over to the basketball court (YHC almost led the PAX through the bushes over a wall onto it instead of taking the appropriate route. When Clemson Tigers get around basketball courts, we don’t really know what to do…)
- Partner A runs suicides (Near court half court line, near court baseline, far court half court, far court baseline)
- Partner B plank-o-rama
- Flapjack
One minute left for Mary:
- LBCs x 35
MOLESKIN
Solid work by each and every member of the PAX this morning, and it was great seeing partners push each other during the circuits and encourage each other during the suicides. T-claps. Unfortunately (or fortunately) we ran out of time before the last planned set down at the basketball courts (burpee broad jumps). Maybe next time.
