A balmy 77 degrees greeted YHC as I got out of the car.  After planting the shovel flag and a few minutes of pre-beatdown chatter and stretching, YHC got impatient and asked, “Who’s leading this train wreck anyway?”  What happened next was surprising.

The PAX all turned and stared back at YHC.  Franklin spoke up for the group, proclaiming, “You are, Callahan”.  Oh.  Ok.  Umm…in that case, follow me!

Warm-up

Jog to the Baseball at the end of the parking lot, circle up for:

  • Side Struffle Hop x 20
  • Good Morning x 15
  • Merkins x 10 (four count)
  • Sir Fazio Arm Circles – Forward and Reverse x 10 each
  • Squats x 15

The Thang

Bear Crawl up AND down the steps next to the giant baseball x 2.  Plank-o-rama once every one was finished.  Then we jogged over to one of the picnic shelters and grabbed a bench for:

  • Alternating Left/Right Step Up x 20
  • LBC on the tabletop x 20
  • 6″ leg hold x 15 count around the PAX
  • Irkens x 20
  • Derkins x 10
  • REPEATO

Next we moseyed on to the kiddy park.  YHC had a half-baked idea and needed just 10 seconds to get the full plan in place.  5 Pax = 5 stations.  Each guy does each station…twice.

  1. People’s chair
  2. Box jumps
  3. X’s and O’s
  4. Seated row (using the baby swing)
  5. Run a lap around the entire parking lot.

This was a great time-eater, so we did it twice.  After that, YHC heard the TOCRP calling.  What’s that?  The Town Of Cary Rock Pile, of course.  Once we jogged over there, the Pax were advised to get themselves a Big A$$ Rock for:

  • Curls x 10 IC
  • Triceps Extensions x 10 IC
  • Shoulder Press x 10 IC
  • Bent Row x 10 IC
  • Curls x 15 IC

We then jogged over to the basketball courts for a little 6MOM with the Pax calling the shots:

  • WWII (Franklin) x 20
  • Box Cutter (Gut) x 15
  • Reverse LBC (Billy) x 15
  • Rope Climbers (Term Paper) x 15
  • J.LOs (Callahan) x 10

COT

Prayers for Gut’s friend, Jimmy, who is going through a family crisis right now.  Help him be a leader and rock for his family, and prayers for Gut to support him as best as he can with the limited time that he has to give.

And that’s all folks.  Ended up being a pretty good workout despite the lack of planning, or even knowledge of the Q’ing responsibilities.  Luckily the low number of Pax lent itself to minimal mumble chatter of YHC’s transgressions. Thanks for the opportunity to lead.  I look forward to it every time, even when I don’t know it’s coming!

If you think about that last statement real hard, it starts to makes sense after a while.  See you in the gloom.
