16 Pax gathered in the gloom while the thunderclouds rolled in.  We had a good group of early risers, and there was mumblechatter regarding what the Gamekeepers had in store.  Two minutes before go-time, the rain began in earnest, with several PAX telling YHC that his watch was wrong.  The Q is never wrong. We diligently waited in the rain and at 0545 we grabbed a rock off the pile and ran to the picnic shelter while the thunder and lightning began.

Warm up:

Put the rock to the side, don’t worry – we carried it for a reason.  Circle up for 12 SSH, 12 Imperial Walkers, 12 Mountainclimbers.  One for each month of A-Team.

The Thang:

YHC’s original survival plan was scrapped due to the lightning. That’s what you have to do when you want to survive the Gamekeepers – adaptiveness is the key.  Grab a spot on a bench and celebrate the 1 year anniversary of A-Team with 52 reps:  13 count, 4 separate times:

  • Dips
  • Dirkins
  • Irkins
  • Alternating Left-Right Step Ups

Since we had so much fun celebrating, lets do 52 reps with our rock!  Again, 13 count, 4 separate times.

  • Rock Curls
  • Rock Press
  • Rock Squats
  • Rock Tricep Extensions

The Gamekeepers decided that thunder and lightning were not producing enough excitement, so they turned those off.  The rain was a slight drizzle and we hit the road.  Run with the rock and return it to the pile.  Then continue to run through the arena to the front parking lot.

But the Gamekeepers anticipated our move and were waiting with the Beast-that-was-not-a-Beast.  4 stops thoughout the parking lot, 13 reps each (for a complete anniversary celebration):

  • Burpees
  • Prisoner Squats
  • Merkins

Run through the arena back to the basketball court where we found a little Mary just as the lightning started again:

  • 12 LBCs
  • 12 Freddy Mercurys
  • 12 Low Slow Flutters
