Full disclosure, last time i was at this site, I was 19 yrs old and a counselor at Camp Morehead, tasked with overseeing a bunch of 13 yr  olds at the Country Club pool, but I was really more focused on my 16 yr old girlfriend at the time. So yeah, this time was different, and yes, I was robbing the cradle, and it  was totally worth it, but I digress. Today, I put my fate in the hands of Smoke Shifter, as he was my ride, which is always a risky venture, but he got me there with time to spare. However back to fact that I have never posted here, let alone Q’d the sight, my nerves were little frayed, especially given the fact that the sun was a total no-show. That can tend to happen with this whole F3 thing. Alas… luckily we had a fired up group of 28, who were ready to roll at start time, so off we went – minus a few pre runners who may or may not have been lost. Oh well, for the record, I did give a disclaimer, they just weren’t around to hear it.

Warm up – we ran a couple holes (I think – like I said it was dark and I was lost) then circled up for a warmup of:
SSH x 25
Good Mornings x 15
Arm circles x 16
Mountain Climbers x 15
Merkins x 10

The THANG
Getting the warmup out of the way, we kept our cruise the Morehead’s finest links for a couple of more holes and then pulled up for spontaneous round of:
burpees x 10
Moving merkins x 10
Ski abs x 20

Ok, got through that, lets keep cruising. Covered two more holes, and then another spontaneous round of:
Burpees x 10
Diamond merkins x 10
Boat/canoe x 20

Man! We just started this I’m already huffing! I really hope I don’t spill merlot. That would be somewhat embarrassing, but I guess could be a good story. Still, I really hope that doesn’t happen. Alright, back to the backblast. Two more holes to cover and then a circle up for Pigmy Squares. What!?! Never heard of Pygmy Squares?? Well, I may or may not have made up that name on the spot, but can we all agree that it sounds pretty funny. Alight so what are they? Just a big ole rectangle pattern – on the first short side-  Bear Crawls, run on the long sides, and lunge walks on the other short side, for 3 rounds.

Quick side note – if you have never posted on a golf course site, Goodness Gracious, do it now. The ground is like butter. During Bear Crawls, my hands felt as if they were getting massaged in Awesomeness… I am a fan..

Alright up next were partner ups for wheel barrows with gorilla jumps x 10 at the switch off point. Then runs with partner plank merkins at the switch off points, and some half burpees x 15 and squat jumps x 15 in between. For last measure we put in a nice sprint to the sand trap and back ( I probably should have specified which hole we were on – I have no idea, but I am sure the club will be getting  complaints from the house that was directly beside it. First rule of Qing – be aware of your surroundings. Yeah, I failed that  one. Next time..) ok, back to the parking lot with  some break up stops for box cutters and LBCs.

COT
Box Cutters x 20
American Hammers x 15

Announcements:
Welcome FNG Slide Rule, vacationing in MHC from ATL.
Convergence at Hero Patriot on Sat. @ 0600

Prayer Request:
Prayers to the family where the father lost his life this Monday trying to save his three daughters caught in a riptide at Shack.

Swaggert took us out, and his words were truly inspiring.

On a side note, Gilligan and I started doing some F3 workouts down here last June, and did a handful throughout the summer but just on Saturdays. After Labor day, I didn’t come back down to MHC until this Easter and was  truly blown away with what Gilligan and a bunch of inspired individuals have done with bringing F3 to MHC. It really is amazing to see, it’s a testament to this whole concept of F3, and it makes me really be glad to part of this community.
