The annual Christmas themed BO workout has become a bit of tradition in CarPex land and one that includes both fun and work. No different this year were the Q’s of the event, Banjo and Riptide. The honors go to Banjo however, as his preparation for the event were top notch. The crowd trickled in and spirits were high and with that the PAX were off.
Banjo was up first and the PAX followed him to the Town Hall. Circle up for SSH, GM’s, etc. Mosey to side of the parking deck for “presents”. Pick out a present of your choosing. The presents were 6″ PVC pipes of varying lengths filled with concrete. Length did not necessarily equate to weight. Many found that out quickly. Assemble on first level of deck ramp. Lungewalk 10 paces up. Put your present down and sprint to top of deck ramp then 5 burpees and back down to the pipes and 10 merkens. Continue to repeat until all pax have reached the top of ramp or about 8-9 times up and down. Jog with your pipe around and up deck to find……Santa’s sleighs…YHC took over at this point. Many will remember these works of F3 art from last year. Much to YHC M’s chagrin, those bad boys are still around and ready to work this morning. The sleighs are actually wooden pallets with rope attached. Partner up and size definitely matters. P1 pulls the sleigh with your partner on the back. Go to 2nd lightpole and flapjack. Everyone did this 2 times. The rest of the PAX did dying cockroaches and hammers while waiting their turn. Jog back to start, billy run, boat/canoe and Frederick mercury’s.
COT and Greasemonky took us out.
NM: Angry Elf takes the prize for the costume. He was, indeed, an elf. Banjo was a very close 2nd with Christmas themed pajama bottoms that he stole from his daughter. Burt let us all know he was still drunk from the night before. Sparks flew from underneath one of the sleds due to nails being exposed. Quite the site in the dark gloom. This is YHC’s favorite workout of the year for several reasons but this especially so. CArPEX has come so far this year and we have a lot to be thankful for as a group but most especially the growth of this thing we call F3 in our backyard and with so many good men. YHC appreciates the effort that these guys make every morning to get better and the fellowship that comes with it. Here is hoping that the PAX have a very Merry Christmas with their families and loved ones and take time to relax and enjoy each other. As Ma Bell said, we have work to do next year. See you all in the Gloom!
