You ever have any of those moments where you were over-confident and then got yourself in slightly over your head? If you say yes then fear not for you are not alone. I severely underestimated the GoRuck Extended Training Session at Pullen on Friday evening. I thought “This won’t be so bad.” See shirt below. So I signed up for the Q at Pullen afterwards because I haven’t had one there in awhile and didn’t want Floppy to get stuck with it. Not ashamed to say that I will be working on those flutter kicks along with some other core exercises. On the converse however it’s kind of fun to try something new and see where the weak spots are. It motivates me to try and work harder to be able to meet the challenges ahead.

Take a tour of the Campus with a few pearls along the way

At the Picnic Shelter

  • 15, 12, 10 – Urkins
  • 15, 12 ,10 – Dips
  • 15, 12, 10 – Derkins

Run over to the Campus and at the tunnels across from the parking deck

  • Bear crawl the 1st tunnel
  • Crawl bear the 2nd tunnel
  • Gorilla walk the 1st tunnel
  • Walk gorilla the 2nd tunnel

Run over to the Spire?

The idea was to do this throughout the workout in random spots but I believe we only did this the once or twice.

  • 5 – Burpees
  • 10 – Merkins
  • 15 – Squats

Run over to the Free Expression Tunnel

  • Bear crawl the length of the poles

At the next set of steps

  • Single Step Hops
  • Double Step Hops
  • Triple Step Hops

Run to the side of the library and at the hill do

  • 11’s with Flutter Kick’s at the top and American Hammer’s at the bottom

Run back to the parking deck for

  • Stair Repeats x 4

NMS:

Just as I found out the leading a workout with 30+ men was a different animal I learned that a workout with just 2 PAX has a different feel also. Admittedly it was pretty laid back and I got more into talking with Bilo and focused more on the 2nd F than on the 1st. I appreciated his company and him being there helped me to stick with a somewhat-full workout and not slack off to much or feel self-conscious about going around and exercising by myself had he not shown up.
