Lucky 13 PAX rolled into downtown Cary on a slightly chilly morning with a subtle pre-blast promise of a “parking deck partay” lingering.  The parking deck workout in general is intriguing, when considering the depth and breadth of pain it can inflict.  So for my first BO Q, it seemed only right that we hit it hard.  So let’s see how we did:

Warm up:

  • 25 SSH
  • 15 GM
  • 15 IW
  • 20 MC
  • 33 Merkins OYO (to match the temp in Fahrenheit – nice try PAX, my vehicle has a thermometer and I think it’s accurate)

Mosey over to the ToC Parking Deck to meet and slay the Beast – starting from the first level, 6 one-way trips (3 round trips) to the top of the deck and back, doing a set of 6 exercises each time you turn a corner.  A different exercise for each of the 6 one-way segments:

  • Trip 1 – Hand-release merkins
  • Trip 2 – Tuck jumps
  • Trip 3 – Burpees (of course)
  • Trip 4 – Plank jacks
  • Trip 5 – American hammers
  • Trip 6 – Makhtar N’Diayes

Before leaving the deck, find a spot on the conveniently located walls for BTTW with two 10-counts, followed of course by 10 Australian Mountain climbers, in cadence.  How do we officially make this the Cary/Apex signature move?

Mosey back over to the intersection just down the street from our launch point, avoiding the heavy downtown Cary morning commute traffic and obeying all pedestrian laws.  Squat hold until all in.  Bear crawl to the speed limit sign at the launch point.  Pretty much out of time so wrap it up with a quick set of 25 Freddie Mercuries, in cadence.
