“Grit is not just a simple elbow-grease term for rugged persistence.  It is an often invisible display of endurance that lets you stay in an uncomfortable place, work hard to improve…and do it again and again…”

YHC shared this words with the PAX before we got started today.  They sum up nicely YHC’s experience on Tuesday mornings over the past 3+ years.  The mental endurance to get up each morning, the physical endurance of completing the workout, and continuing to show up week after week knowing what I would be in for.    After explaining this to the PAX, we went off searching again for that “uncomfortable place.”  I hope we all found it.

Head up Millbrook road to the top of the dam and spread out.  Warm-up with Good Morning x 15, Imperial Walker x 15, Mountain Climber x 15, a quick calf stretch and Fazio Arm Circles each way x 10.  Then break off into groups of 3.

The Thang:  Partner Carry Partner Chase around the #RingOfFire.  P1 carries P2 heading clockwise around the lake.  P3 does 10 hand release merkins then chases the others.  Rotate through all the way around the lake to the top of the dam.  While we wait for everyone to finish LBC’s x 30, Heels to Heaven x 15, WWIIs x 15.

Next to finish the loop, same concept as above but wheel-barrel across the dam instead of partner carry, and 10 squats vs. 10 merkins.  Once you get to the far side head down to AO and thats all we got time for.

Announcements:  4th of July Convergence, possibly at Pullen possibly at 7AM.  Or a 4 mile race at 8AM benefiting Healing Transitions.  Haven House workout tonight.  Website changes coming soon – dont ask McGruber about them.
