Quite a bit of mumble chatter as no one knew the Q “Boomhauer”. Most fingers pointing towards Burt, seemed the likely choice. But with a minute to go, YHC steps forward – see, YHC just watched “King of the Hill” where Boomhauer was playing some Banjo.

There were no FNG’s so the pax of 13 were off as Surcharge and Nabisco were pulling in. Taking the long way around to Fidelity for some warmup, we stopped midway for 10 penalty burpees. Pax then circled up with low squat hold to watch the sixes catch up and finish out their burpees. At Fidelity, we gathered for some SSH, mountain climbers, merkins, around the circle 3 ct low plank hold, regular, more low planks, and then greeted each other with some good am’s.

Mosey to the Train Depot rock pile – choose wisely as there will be lots of reps – for first round 25 ct each curls then tricep extension. Then off for quick jog to the conductor for 10 burpees before mosey back to rock pile. The rock pile was a bit repetitive at 25 cts curls and tricep extension, but YHC had not had  a decent arm workout in some time. Our first trip to the conductor included a near miss with the Cary transit bus, so subsequent returns followed the back route – these were in the AYG mode, aka sprint

  • Rock pile then “AYG!!!” to conductor for 20 merkins
  • Rock pile work then AYG!! to conductor for 20 dive bombers / hindu merkins
  • Rock pile, more AYG to conductor for 20 diamond
  • Rock pile, AYG to conductor for 15 ct each side oblique crunches then cross over single leg lifts.
  • Rock pile, AYG to conductor for 20 merkins.
  • Several more rounds of Rock pile and AYG combos, but YHC’s memory fails him.

Mosey back to Fidelity for Mary – those that have not Q’d a workout were called on to lead us out with Mary

  • Mr Roboto: SSH
  • Term Paper: box cutters
  • Air Bag:  something
  • Webelo: something also

YHC followed his pattern of no resting 10 counts –  high intensity. Low squat hold when done till all pax complete.

COT:

  • Ma Bell must be getting a commission as he is seeking fellow pax on his donut indulgence and the KKC in February – signups in October.
  • Pharmacy was Thursday night. YHC did not make it so not sure about the mumble chatter, but sure there must have been some sage words spoken.
  • Need some leaders to step up and serve your local man at any of the local F3 sites.
  • Prayer concerns to YHC’s cousin with liver cancer and his family

RIPTIDE closed us out with some inspiring words.

Again I find myself reflecting on F3 and the life changes that have occurred with the pax. And after carrying the rock for the better part of this workout, I am reminded of a good friend that is making some other life changes. He reminds me that we often need to drop the rock. Making positive changes in our life is a lifelong process.  We all have many flaws that weigh down our spiritual backpack. We can all grow and change into better men and become the person that God intends us to be. “Sloth is the thief of time. The character defect of putting off actions “until things get better” is one of the most destructive detours we can make. Delays never make problems “go away;” they only make success harder to attain.”

Thank you men for the opportunity to lead, guide, and serve.
